PPE Medical Isolation Wall CabinetsPreventing hospital acquired infections (HAIs) continues to be a major concern for healthcare providers. Personal protection equipment (PPE) like gloves, masks, gowns, and caps is an essential step in containing infectious diseases–but we’re sure you already know that. What you might not know is that there are better, more efficient, and more attractive options for storing this equipment securely and within easy access to hospital staff. Randy Brant at Southwest Solutions Group® worked with a hospital to help them decide what type of PPE storage would be able to meet all of their needs. It was decided that multiple medical isolation wall cabinets would be mounted outside of patient rooms for a highly visible, convenient, and OSHA compliant solution.

Medical Isolation Wall Cabinets Features

The hospital already had a PPE storage system in place, but it just wasn’t up to snuff. The bright yellow hanging bags had clear packets for storing PPE and, while they served the hospital’s most basic storage needs, were not flexible or attractive.

Each cabinet is constructed of highly durable, non-porous, and easily cleaned white .75” thick high-density polyethylene (HDPE). The back of the cabinet features a slatwall, which makes it easy to adjust the placement of the cabinets on their stainless steel holders. Two upper soft-close Thermofoil doors were also included, covered in cashmere fiber, at the hospital’s request. A fold-down staging surface (also constructed with Thermofoil and cashmere fiber) is included with each cabinet that is easy to use and is able to support the cabinet doors. Another PVC frame, painted to match the finish, wraps around the unit for extra durability and to prevent scratches or other damage.

Various stainless steel storage components were also included in the cabinet’s interior. Stainless steel is a popular option for medical and healthcare applications, since it’s very easy to clean and resists the spread of germs and other bacteria. Inside the cabinets are 2 gown holders, 1 glove holder, and 1 mask holder. There is also plenty of additional space for storing other materials like wipes and sprays. Now the hospital is even more prepared for their fight against bacteria and infection.
